Triac enters the machining business
Triac’s primary focus was the design of equipment for the oil and gas industry. However, we found that although we could design it, we had a difficult time getting it manufactured. Machine shops were busy; building our prototypes was not a priority. Fast turn around high-quality work was difficult to find.
At the same time, Triac was developing a new product line – overmolded cable assemblies. This undertaking was not for the faint of heart. It required a great deal of both electrical and mechanical engineering to design and develop molds and processes.
Again, with mold design and manufacturing a priority, Triac needed a machine shop with the ability to produce high-quality parts in a very quick turn around time.
Well, if you can’t find it, then build it.
So we did.
Triac brought on a great team of machinists and designers and purchased several CNC milling, CNC turning machines and a CMM and entered the machining business. What used to take weeks to turn around could now be accomplished in minutes. This rapid prototyping capability was key to the development of the overmolding technology that was incorporated into the Triac cable assembly line. Custom molds could go from concept to completion and into the injection machine for testing in as little as two hours.
